As FHA-Food & Beverage becomes an annualised event, and the industry continues to navigate through the COVID recovery phase, we reached out to our buyers to understand about their past experiences and successes from participating in FHA-Food & Beverage, as well as their expectations for the upcoming edition happening from 25th-28th April.

We had the opportunity to speak to Diep Do, Sam Chow, Anna Ho, Carlos Ballesteros, Nang Aon Mo Hseng and Nikhil S. Asrani. Read on to discover more!

Diep Do

Group Brand Manager, New Viet Dairy – Vietnam

What is your current position in the industry, and what are your objectives for attending the FHA-Food & Beverage event? 

Ms Diep Do: New Viet Dairy is a leading importer and distributor of foods & foods ingredients in Vietnam market.

We offer a range of high-quality food products from certified manufacturers and suppliers throughout the world. Our customers and partners range from manufacturers, hospitality industry, and food retailers

When attending FHA & Beverage, we would like to understand the current food trends & look for new suppliers to expand our business.

What kind of products or services are you hoping to explore at the event? 

Ms Diep Do: We are open to opportunities in bringing potential products to the Vietnam market and our priorities are: dairy, meat & seafood, groceries, beverages, frozen products, retail products.

What are your anticipations for the FHA-Food & Beverage event?

Ms Diep Do: New companies seeking to penetrate the Asian market, especially in Vietnam: EU companies have the advantage for import tax after EVFTA (EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement) gets applied.

Have you attended any previous FHA editions? If so, have you engaged in any ongoing business activities with the exhibitors you connected with at the event?

Ms Diep Do: Yes, FHA-Food & Beverage 2022 in September. We have successfully started business with two suppliers after the last show. There are also some potential suppliers we are still following up with and looking for collaboration opportunities in the near future.

Sam Chow

Operations Supervisor (Import Division), Chef’s Garden – Hong Kong, SAR

What is your current position in the industry, and what are your objectives for attending the FHA-Food & Beverage event?

Sam: I am Sam Chow Chi Hang, and as a operations manager at Chef’s Garden HK, I would like to find out some potential quality and competitive pricing meat in the FHA-Food & Beverage show which would help our companies’ growth.

What kind of products or services are you hoping to explore at the event? 

Sam: Mainly looking for meat , beef, lamb, pork and, poultry. Of course, I am also interested to see some potential products which may suit the Chef’s Garden retail market outside of meat products

What are your anticipations for the FHA-Food & Beverage event? 

Sam: I would like to explore more meat products, especially for the high quality and competitively priced products, which can be launched in the Hong Kong market so as to increase Chef’s Garden products’ range. 

Besides, as COVID has ended and Hong Kong economic market is recovering, FHA-Food & Beverage would be a chance for me to foster better relationships with foreign networks apart from our current contacts.

Have you attended any previous FHA editions? If so, have you engaged in any ongoing business activities with the exhibitors you connected with at the event? 

Sam: No I did not attend FHA previously.

Anna Ho

Purchasing Specialist, Bach Hoa Xanh Joint Stock Company – Vietnam

What is your current position in the industry, and what are your objectives for attending the FHA-Food & Beverage event? 

Anna: I am a Purchasing Specialist at Bach Hoa Xanh Joint Stock company in Vietnam. To my knowledge, the FHA-Food & Beverage event is where I can connect and collaborate with potential suppliers.

What kind of products or services are you hoping to explore at the event?

Anna: I work for a Retailer so I am looking forward to exploring pantry food, frozen food, confectionary, fruit juice and other retail F&B products.

What are your anticipations for the FHA-Food & Beverage event?

Anna: My expectation for FHA-Food & Beverage is to meet and explore  as many potential suppliers as possible.

Have you attended any previous FHA editions? If so, have you engaged in any ongoing business activities with the exhibitors you connected with at the event?

Anna: I attended FHA-Food & Beverage 2022 and managed to meet and work with some new suppliers in fruit juices as well as keep in touch with some potential suppliers.

Carlos Ballesteros

What are some significant business objectives that you accomplished by attending FHA-Food & Beverage?  

Carlos: My primary reason for visiting FHA-Food & Beverage would be to discover new products and brands, and also to catch up with existing suppliers. 

Could you share your experience and biggest takeaway from attending FHA-Food & Beverage?  

Carlos: Manufacturers who come to showcase their products at FHA-Food & Beverage are focused on exporting in this part of the world. This means that certain conditions are already met so it’s easier to interact with them and I can cover many suppliers in a short period of time. 

Why is it crucial for your company to keep up with the latest trends in the constantly evolving F&B industry?  

Carlos: Consumer trends and perceptions change. Our customers expect us importers to present them new trends in Food & Beverage to match demand. 

Nang Aon Mo Hseng

What are some significant business objectives that you accomplished by attending FHA-Food & Beverage?

Nang: I was able to network with industry professionals and learn more about the current trends in the food industry. I also managed to connect with many potential partners and identify opportunities for collaboration. Additionally, I was able to gain valuable insights on industry regulations and plan for possible collaborations. Lastly, I was able to increase visibility for our business and build relationships with potential customers and key clients.

Could you share your experience and biggest takeaway from attending FHA-Food & Beverage?

Nang: My biggest takeaway from attending FHA-Food & Beverage was the importance of networking and building relationships with industry professionals. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to meet a variety of people from different areas of the food and beverage industry, from manufacturers and distributors to retailers, chefs, and restauranteurs. It was a great way to learn about the industry and make valuable connections. Overall, it was a great experience and I’m looking forward to attending future FHA events.

Why is it crucial for your company to keep up with the latest trends in the constantly evolving F&B industry?

Nang: It is essential for companies in the Food and Beverage industry to keep up with the latest trends to remain competitive. As the industry is constantly evolving, companies must stay up to date with advances in technology, customer preferences, and other changes that could become a trend or disrupt the industry. Keeping up with trends will help companies to meet the market demands, increase market share, and maintain customer loyalty. Additionally, staying on top of the latest trends will help companies to identify areas of improvement and capitalize on opportunities for growth.

Did you learn any industry insights from our seminar sessions or feature areas? 

Nang: The insights gained from the seminars were immensely valuable, providing me with a better understanding of the industry and enabling me to make informed decisions.
