Muhammad Kamal Bin Khamis
President, Singapore Halal Culinary Federation (SHCF) & Co-Founder, KitchenSq LLP
Current positions: - Co-founder, KitchenSq LLP - Allied Educator (WSQ) - President, Singapore Halal Culinary Federation (SHCF) - EXCO member, World Platform of Islamic Countries Culinary Society (WICS). Kamal began his career as a food service professional in 1995. He received his Diploma in Food & Beverage from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Diploma in Applied Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Republic Polytechnic, Singapore.
With over two decades of experience in the F&B industry, Muhammad Kamal has honed his experience through his positions managing various F&B/Hospitality operations, openings, and events.
An Excellence Service Awardee (EXSA), he has been involved in several state and international events such as the International Monetary Fund 2006 and APEC Summit 2009, Kamal has also represented Singapore in Gulfood 2013, Dubai. He has also provided Halal-centric cooking demonstrations and talks at the Japan Halal Expo 2016 in Tokyo; a Halal seminar and cookery demo at Beifang University of Nationalities, Ningxia, China, Halal Gourmet Chef Training in Cape Town, South Africa, with Cape Town Tourism, Halal Conference in Lahore, Pakistan, Cookery Masterclass in Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Locally, he has contributed to the food service industry through media, broadcasting, prints, webinars, trade shows and also as a keynote speaker on halal matters including a live global virtual masterclass during the Singapore Food Festival 2022 with the Singapore Tourism Board and cookery demonstrations at the Warees Halal Limited and Singapore Manufacturing Federation platforms’ live cookery masterclasses during the Food Hotel Asia 2022.
Also, as a certified allied educator, he has provided consultancy and training roles for business chamber beneficiaries, and Halal culinary and baking programs at Peoples’ Association, alongside making several screen appearances locally and internationally.
Kamal is also very active in delivering national lifelong learning curriculums (WSQ courses) to the masses in baking, culinary, speciality coffee, and food safety and hygiene.
