Tan Yong Quan
Specialist Team Lead, National Centre for Food Science - Singapore Food Agency
Yong Quan is currently the Specialist Team Lead for the Bioengineering team at the National Centre for Food Science, SFA. His team conducts food safety tests and monitors genetically modified organisms in food. He works with companies to ensure that innovative food products, such as genetically modified foods, genome edited foods, and novel foods, are introduced to the market in a safe and lawful manner. Yong Quan graduated with a PhD in Biochemistry from the National University of Singapore.
